I spent the day at a professional development course in NJ with teachers from that district who were working on their version of Core Curriculum and did a special session with Heidi Hayes Jacobs on taking the opportunity to meet the needs of today's learners.
Peter, Hans and Sue had breakfast at Katz's deli on the lower east side, took the ferry to Staten Island Ferry, and walked the Brooklyn Bridge via DUMBO (Down under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). We met up at Peter Luger's Restaurant where we ordered steak for four at 4.45pm. Needless to say took us some time to complete the meal.....
We finished the night with a ride to the top of the Empire State Building to take in the night views. It was a glorious night with views extending to the horizon. For Hans and Sue as this was their last night in NYC this was surely the sprinkles on the top of the icing on the cup cake.
We went home to bed, for in the morning the four of us will be on our way to Cuba. Peter and I will say farewell to Hans and Sue and go on to Mexico.
We can't wait to welcome Bo and Kristy on the 24/3/13. It will be their 10th Wedding Anniversary and I can't think of anything more romantic than a week in NYC with us!!
Should be HUGE!!!!
