We woke to another day in the ‘Winter Wonderland’ that is the Grand Canyon in December. Today was the winter solstice so it seemed fitting to spend it playing in the snow.
But we couldn’t stay for too long as we were off to Phoenix today. The state of Arizona has some striking scenery with dazzling colours that change with the passage of the sun. We found the mountains covered with an afternoon blue haze endlessly fascinating to view and the foreground of rolling, rock filled hills, scattered with flowering cactus, was even more delightful.
Arrived at our hotel and freshened up before partaking of yet another ‘ginormous meal’ at Bobby Qs BBQ and Rib Shack (apparently it is world famous). Went to bed full – very full indeed!
Great to hear Wendz wasn't crook for too long. Hey, finally i think I have worked out how to post up comments. From our side - we were pretty glad the world didn't end, weather here is superb - the warmth before the heat. Phillips's, Edingers and Crawford's send love as does Frank Wood and Liz Landers. Swan had to front the media and confirm there will be No surplus 2012/13 - Duh, done the night before Christmas and with Ranga on holiday, Buswell been naughty again, beat the Sri lankans on day 5 with just 10 overs to spare in Hobart, Sonny Bill has signed with the Roosters for a year.
