29/3/13 – Museums and Mansions

I met up with Bo and Kristie at 9.30am outside the Guggenheim Museum for a tour of the building and a glimpse of the current exhibition. As we were doing all three galleries in ‘Museum Mile’ today we didn’t want to overload the senses, so we did not stay long at Mr Wright’s famous house of curves. In less than an hour we were making the short walk south to the Metropolitan Museum of Art where Bo and Kristie took in the Director’s Tour.

We called into a great little deli for lunch and took a spot of sunshine as we lolled on the park bench in front of the shop. Bo was not well, so he went back for a sleep and Kristie and I moved on the see the Frick Collection. Wow that art collection and that home still blow me away and I wonder what it must have been like to live there in the 1910’s. As it was Bo and Kristie's 10th Wedding Anniversary today we hoped they had a nice night out together.
